What is a Pinterest VA?

Before we get started on how to become a Pinterest virtual assistant, let’s look at what a Pinterest VA is.

A Pinterest VA is is someone who manages someone else’s Pinterest account for their business needs.

It’s one of the higher paying services to offer as a virtual assistant.

This can include a wide set of skills such as:

  • designing pins
  • finding Pinterest keywords
  • adding in pin descriptions and hashtags
  • scheduling pins in tailwind
  • pinning pins manually
  • applying to group boards
  • submitting pins to tribes
  • creating advertisements

Really the services you offer can be as complex or as simple as you like.

If you are still getting used to the Pinterest basics, I suggest starting with basic services and working your way up.

Things like designing pins and pinning your clients pins to boards.

Eventually you can learn the more advanced skills such as helping clients set up sales funnels through Pinterest and help them manage their advertisements.

How Much Do Pinterest VA’s Make?

Typically a Pinterest VA can make anywhere from $15/hour to $50 an hour.

Although it may seem like a large gap, it all depends on your skill and experience level along with what services you offer to your client.

So, How Do You Become a Pinterest VA?

The whole reason your here of course to figure out how to start earning an income as a Pinterest VA!

Here is our step by step action guide to help get your VA business going!

1. Get to Know Pinterest

This may seem like an obvious place to start, but it’s an important one to mention.

As a Pinterest VA you need to know and understand all the basics of Pinterest.

I personally don’t think you need to be a total expert when you start offering specific clients your services.

In fact, I believe that offering the services and gaining experience will help you grow and develop your skills. This will allow you to charge more when you have more experienced and can help get your clients get better outcomes.

But you should definitely have a firm grasp on how Pinterest works and what their best practices are.

Of course Pinterest itself has some great on it’s business site, such as best practices for creating pins and best practices for creating your pin content.

However, I do suggest you start by taking a few Pinterest courses to understand the platform from a business perspective and understand how to get the most out of your pinning efforts.

2. Make Sure Your VA Ready

If you are already a VA, you probably have a decently functioning set up of getting clients.

If you have absolutely no experience in virtual assisting, I suggest you get acquainted with what the job is and how to become a virtual assistant.

When I became a VA I took a general VA course called “30 Days or Less to Virtaul Assistant Success.”

It was one of the best decisions I made in figuring out how to set up my business and start getting clients.

If you are looking to become a Pinterest VA, my top course I recommend is Pinterest VA Today. (You can read my full review on the course here: Become a Pinterest VA today review)

(They have an AMAZING and FREE workshop you should definitely check out here—> Become a Pinterest VA Today Workshop. It includes super helpful free bonuses that will help you get started asap!)

They course helps you get started setting up your entire business even if you’ve never done any kind of work like it before.

This can be extremely helpful for those who aren’t sure how to get started, and want to start making money sooner than later.

3. Hone in on Your Skills

Once you understand the basics of Pinterest and how to set up your VA Business, it’s time to get to work and start honing in on those skills!

Make sure to be actively using Pinterest everyday. Notice which pins catch your eye and ask yourself what about them makes you want to click on it.

Notice the top pins that pop up in the search feed and check out their pin descriptions and what words they are using to make them rank.

Pinterest is a special beast.

It isn’t the “social media” platform it’s typically made out to be.

No, its much more complex and really should be viewed as a visual search engine.

Get to know the platform well, and figure out how to use it to get the right people to see your clients pins.

4. Start Pitching to Businesses

Once you’re ready to start taking on clients, it’s time to finding them!

When you first start as a virtual assistant, clients aren’t going to be flocking to you.

You’ll have to set up a few basic processes to find clients who need your services and then eventually, set up an evergreen way to help your future clients find you.

So in the beginning, you’re going to have to pitch your services.

This means sending out cold emails to businesses or bloggers offering your services to them.

Your job in the begging will be to help them understand how you can help them grow their business.

This part tends to be the most intimidating when starting. But it’s so worth it and it gets easier after you do it a few times.

Again, this skill is covered in depth in the Pinterest VA Today course. The course includes email templates to make it easy to know exactly what to say to potential clients and how to handle correspondence between them.

Becoming a Pinterest Manager or VA may seem overwhelming at first, but it’s a rewarding and profitable service to offer and in high demand.
